As we build toward a radically improved system, we know we need to continue to deliver meaningful results in the short term. We're proud of the innovations that will lead to structural change and encouraged by our initial results. The task of wholesale requires sophisticated partners who want full accountability for how their charitable dollars are spent.
- Measurable outcomes. For the veterans enrolled in our Career Launch programs, six months continuous employment is the end objective. Our average success rate is just shy of 80%, average time to train, prepare and place is 90 days, with an average all-in cost of $3,500. The placement of veterans using the VetMatch predictive hiring tool is expected to cost less than $1,000.
- Low costs. We are able to deliver such results at such low costs because of our unique and robust network of volunteers, partners and employers, and donated resources.
- High returns. As measured against the benefits, these are unusually high performing investments. Our $3,500 expense, for example, to retool and launch a veteran into a high growth career, yields a 5,000% return when measured against the difference in net present value of expected lifetime earnings. The returns on VetMatch placements are similarly outsize.
- 100% funding efficiency goal. We allocate income earned from employer services first to overhead. This we do to realize our goal of applying 100% of donated funds to the core mission.
