Business technology powers our modern world, and every technology provider needs good recon -- people adept at sorting through, prioritizing and communicating targets of opportunity.  In this career field, aptitude is more important than experience.  If you also have the desire, you're only a few dozen training hours away from a job in which typical first-year pay is $70,000 and above and which opens us a world of opportunity in technology.

Sales skills are universally valuable.  Good sales representatives command salaries well into six-figures, make their own schedules, and have the power to work in the industries they choose.

As an infantryman, my civilian career options proved to be limited.  A college degree did little to convince employers that I was qualified for more than a [physical] security job.  Luckily, I discovered this program.  It provided me with the formal training, hands-on exposure, one-on-one coaching and placement support to land my first job within weeks.

Within a year I was promoted to Account Executive in a great technology company.  I'm now enjoying the career I always wanted ... [hover for more]

"I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in the beginning of 2013 with the hopes of getting into sales.  I knew that I had what it took, but I soon learned that it was easier said than done.   One thing that my military experience helped me do was to get security jobs.  This was enough to help me get by—just barely.  However, security work wasn’t what I wanted to do, and it didn’t take advantage of what I felt I could contribute.

"My fellow veterans felt the same frustration.  Two years later, after completing my university studies, I was still having trouble getting to where I wanted to be.   I knew that my seven years in the Army and National Guard as an Infantryman had instilled in me qualities that civilian employers would value, but my lack of experience proved to be a deal breaker—and I had no way to bridge the gap.   I had landed interviews and I was always told I did great, but I was always the runner up for lack of experience.

The Sales Development Career Launch Program offered by AlwaysHired through Veterans2Work helped me bridge the gap, by providing me the right mix of formal training, hands-on exposure, one-on-one coaching that gave me exactly what I needed to launch the sales career I’d dreamed of having.  I highly recommend the Sales Development program.  The instructors are awesome.  This is great opportunity for fellow veterans looking to jump start a great career in technology sales.  Working in entry level sales is a great way to get your foot in the door of a company that can lead to many more internal opportunities."
